In times of lockdown, eating is a destressing and a real family bonding time. Every member of the family cooks a certain meal as its therapeutic. But eating the same dal, roti and rice gets boring quickly. Hence, we need new recipes.
The trouble with new recipes is that we get only essential ingredients whereas the cookbooks have very fancy recipes and meal plans. The ingredients are above 20 and they have 10 complicated steps. For a newbie, the recipes could also be intimidating.
I have come up with some basic recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that you can make with minimal ingredients and minimum time. Read on to find out your menu for tomorrow.
Recipe for breakfast:
French fries are what all of us are in love with. But, ordering it from outside is risky and people avoid it. Hence the recipe for making the same is very simple. Take some potatoes and peel their skin. Then wash them thoroughly till they are clear of dust. Then cut them into long rectangle pieces that resemble the shape of FrenchFries. Take a pan and preheat the oil. Fry the potatoes in the oil. Blot the excess oil with tissue or newspaper. Then, before serving add salt, chili powder, and curd to it. Another way is to add Maggi masala on the fries and dip it in your favorite mayonnaise and eat it. This breakfast is filling and you will love it.
Recipe for lunch:
Vegetable cutlet is a dish that will fill your stomach and satisfy your taste cravings. Take some boiled raw bananas and smash them. Later, add some vegetables like peas, onion, carrot, capsicum, and cabbage to it. Make a paste of garlic and green chili and add along with salt to the vegetables according to your taste. Once the dough-like consistency is prepared, separate little portions of the mixture. Flatten the balls you have made by separating the mixture. Bake them on a non-stick dish and its ready. Serve it with some spicy chatni and curd.
Recipe for dinner:
It’s lockdown and we are breaking all the rules while staying home. Why not have dessert for dinner? All you will need is chocolate biscuits, milk, and baking soda. Take some chocolate biscuits and grind them to fine powder into a mixer-grinder. Then, add milk to it gradually and whisk it. The consistency should be that of a thick paste and not liquid form. Remember to add milk gradually and when needed. Then add 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Take this mixture and put it in a steel box. Preheat the frying pan and place a dish in the pan. After 5 minutes, put the cake batter with the steel box in it and cover the pan with a lid. After 20 minutes your cake will be ready. For garnishing, you can put liquid chocolate, Choco chips or dry fruit.
These recipes are simple and will be your ride or die in this time of quarantine. Prepare them with your family and enjoy it.
