Eyebrows frame your face and make you look beautiful and put together. We usually get our eyebrows done from a professional but sometimes we have a bush. This bush needs to be dealt with before an impromptu date, an urgent meeting or in a lockdown situation like the one we are having currently.
But every time we cannot run to our trusted salon. So how to tame and deal with that hair? Read on to find out how you can pluck your eyebrows to perfection. Most of us are also worried about ruining the shape and the pain is an extra bonus. But the right method will make it painless and make it look like it’s done by a professional.
Tips to pluck eyebrows:
The important thing to remember is to make your skin soft and supple. Dry skin will make the process painful and the hair won’t be plucked properly and easily. A good tip is to pluck the eyebrows right after you take a hot shower. The steam will make the skin soft, supple and moisturized. But dry your eyebrows so that the plucking becomes smooth and easy.
The direction of your eyebrow hair-
The hair for most people grows in the direction of their nose to their hairline. For some, the hair grows in more than one direction. When you pluck each hair, pluck them in the direction of their growth. This will make the hair to come out easily.
You need to hold the tweezer as you would hold a pencil. The open end of the tweezer needs to be up. Before plucking your eyebrows, make sure to make the motion in the air a few times. This is so that you will get used to the motion and get comfortable with the use of tweezers. Your tweezer should be clean and fine-tipped.
Plucking your hair-
Before you start to pluck your hair, make sure to notice which hair you need to pluck. Take your empty hand and pull the skin around the hair you wish to pluck. Now, get close to the hair and pull it outwards using a tweezer. When you pluck your hair, make sure to not press the tweezer snap shut very hard. Your hair will break in the middle and plucking short hair will become difficult.
After you are done with the plucking, you need to moisturize the skin. Take an ice cube and rub it around the area of your eyes. This will make the skin tight and you will avoid rashes, itchiness, and bumps around the eyebrows. Then, pat it dry with a towel and moisturize it with a face cream. The face cream will get absorbed soon and soothe any pain you experience after your plucking.
Plucking your eyebrows is a process that will take some time to get used to. Take a break after you finish the first brow. A pro tip, always pluck less. If you end up plucking too much in excitement, it will look bad. If your nose itches and eyes tear up, it’s normal and take a break before plucking further.
