We have all watched the YouTube videos that are endless with the same topic “transformation after drinking apple cider vinegar”. To those of us who have never tried this potion, it sounds disgusting just from its name. But if so many have tried it and swear by it, then it must have some benefits right? But you must also have many questions such as will it suit my body? Will there be any side effects? Will it cause any change? Will vinegar be harmful to my body? Does it have any side effects? Etc.

It’s normal to be apprehensive at first about something you have never tried. So, before you drizzle apple cider vinegar on your food or throw a shot back, you can read on, and find out some of its benefits and uses. I have also listed some side effects so that you can make an informed decision regarding this drink. It has been the most tried drink on social media, and maybe you can join their bandwagon or be a lone wolf, we will find out at the end!

Benefits, pros, and cons of apple cider vinegar:

Vitamins and mother- 

Apple cider vinegar has the benefits of including the vitamins that you get by eating an apple. The mixture and white substance at the end of the bottle is a mixture of yeast and the drink. Some companies remove it, whereas, others keep it because it is said to have beneficial and nutritional properties. 

Weight loss- 

This is the point that everyone was waiting to read. Many have tried consuming a shot a day of apple cider vinegar. Some of the YouTubers have tried the challenges and transformations over weeks or months. It is said to facilitate in the process of weight loss; so, if you are trying to shed a pound or two, you can consume this along with your daily intake of proteins.


Mixture of apple cider vinegar will get your glucose under control. This is especially beneficial to people who are diabetic. If you have a sweet tooth, then you can drink this so that you may prevent yourself from being diabetic in the future. The mixture blocks the absorption of starch in the body and this causes blood sugar to spike.


If you wish to whiten your teeth, and then you can take a cotton swab and dip it in the mixture. Then, apply it gently over the enamel every day without fail. Over some days, you will notice a substantial difference. This is much safer for your enamel than direct consumption.


  1. It is harmful to the teeth as it has vinegar in it, it can erode the tooth’s enamel due to being acidic.
  2. It can also aggravate your acid reflux, and this will cause stomach discomfort.

To prevent the drawbacks, you can consume it with 8 ounces of water. Mix 1 or 2 tablespoons of the mixture in water. Rather than directly applying it on the skin, you can apply it on cotton, and then gently rub with it. Direct application can cause irritation to the skin.
